Wow. These Germans like their Lynch/Badalamenti soundtracks! Classifying themselves as "Doom Jazz", it is easy to see why as soon as the first track kicks in with it's moody, dirgy bassline, smooth slow saxophone, and feint cymbal taps with snare brushes reminiscent of what you'd hear wafting through the corridors of the Red Room in Twin Peaks.The album carries on in this fashion, never speeding up or even changing rhythm, which is a good thing for me as i enjoy this kind of brooding, doomy loungecore or whatever people call this style.
Now signed to Mike Patton's Ipecac label, and having just released a new album, these guys have somehow never really quite got the attention that they deserve. Although saying that, i suppose it really is an acquired taste. Find out for yourself:
